Tyrese Maxey led the Philadelphia 76ers to an impressive 116–107 road victory over the New York Knicks on Friday night, despite the absence of Joel Embiid.

Maxey delivered a standout performance, scoring 30 points and dishing out eight assists while shooting an efficient 50 percent from three-point range. He controlled the tempo throughout the night and carried the offense when the Sixers needed it most.

Rookie VJ Edgecombe provided a major boost, finishing with 23 points, four assists, and three steals to help Philadelphia maintain momentum on both ends of the floor.

For New York, Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns each scored 22 points in the loss, while Mikal Bridges added 21. The Knicks kept the game competitive but struggled to slow down Maxey in key moments.

Fans quickly took to social media to praise Maxey for stepping up in a big way without Embiid in the lineup.

With the win, the 76ers improved to 15–11, holding firm in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Knicks, meanwhile, dropped to 19–8, snapping a six-game winning streak.

New York held a slim two-point advantage at halftime as both teams traded baskets throughout a tightly contested first half. Philadelphia responded after the break, edging ahead by one point entering the final quarter.

Down the stretch, Edgecombe caught fire to seal the victory, scoring seven points in the final 3:40 of regulation, helping the Sixers pull away for the nine-point road win.

Philadelphia will look to build on the momentum as it returns home to host the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night in the second game of a back-to-back.
