The 19-7 Lakers struggled at times against the 10-16 Jazz, allowing 41 first-quarter points and even trailing 106-102 going into the fourth quarter.
However, Dončić was a monster, no more than when he scored nine points within a 2:03 span in the fourth quarter. By the time that stretch was done, the Lakers had a 131-119 lead with 4:23 left.
Utah did chip at the lead and even cut it to 134-130 with 1:05 left. However, that's as close as the Jazz would get.
LeBron James added 28 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. All five Laker starters scored at least 13 points on a night when the team missed Austin Reaves (left calf strain).
For the Jazz, Keyonte George led Utah scorers with 34 points.
However, this night was about Dončić, who continues to impress and make his case for the MVP.
The Lakers will now return to Los Angeles on Saturday to visit the Clippers in the Intuit Dome on Saturday.
