Kevin Durant Discusses His Status Among NBA Icons, Future with Rockets, More in Video

Andrew PetersDec 17, 2025

Kevin Durant has firmly established himself among the greatest players in NBA history, and the Houston Rockets star recently gave his take on where he sits on the NBA's list of players.

On Unguarded, Durant said he believes he's "at the top," but gave a nuanced answer about what he considers the top to be.

"At the top. I just look at it like I can relate to the Michael Jordans, to Kobes, LeBrons, Wilts," Durant said (1:20:40 mark). "I can talk deeply about the game of basketball with all of them. Larry Bird. I'm at that table. I'm not saying I'm better or they're better... I feel like I've mastered the game. That should be the only goal for every player."
