Martha Stewart Reveals Injury Caused by Jalen Brunson at Knicks Game in Fallon Video

Lifestyle and homemaking mogul and entrepreneur Martha Stewart revealed that New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson accidentally stepped on and broke her toe during the team's 138-135 overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals last May.

Stewart revealed the news during an appearance on the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

"See those open-toe shoes? Never, ever wear open-toe shoes to a game like that when you're sitting on the floor," Stewart said (h/t Michelle Lee of People Magazine).

"Jalen [Knicks point guard], who's now super-duper, he's so great...I have the Brunson fracture. He stepped on my big toe on this foot. That's why I'm wearing open-toe shoes, because that's the only kind of shoes I can wear now," Stewart added.

Stewart said Brunson crashed into her and fell on her lap. She added that she knew her toe was "broken immediately."

Stewart also noted that Brunson signed a basketball for her grandchild after what happened.

That was a tough day for the Knicks, who blew a 14-point lead with under three minutes remaining en route to the overtime loss. The Pacers ended up beating the Knicks in six games to make the NBA Finals.

New York has persevered after that tough loss, though, going 18-7 thus far and even winning the NBA Cup on Tuesday against the San Antonio Spurs. The Knicks' win-loss record is good enough for second in the Eastern Conference right now as they look for their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999 and first championship since 1973.

Brunson has led the charge, averaging 28.8 points and 6.4 assists per game.
