Is Peterson, Dybantsa or Boozer No. 1 on ESPN's Updated Big Board for 2026 NBA Draft?

Timothy RappDec 16, 2025

ESPN's Jeremy Woo has Kansas guard Darryn Peterson ranked No. 1 in his latest 2026 NBA draft big board, followed by BYU forward AJ Dybantsa and Duke big man Cameron Boozer.

Woo noted that Peterson's "combination of starry upside and reliable high-end floor remains the strongest of the three candidates to go No. 1. His ability to make tough things look easy while playing under control and creating shots in the flow of the game makes him especially hard to defend."

He added that Peterson "will need to continue to display that talent to enhance his case to be the top pick, with Dybantsa and Boozer playing well and legit debate unfolding inside the league about which is the optimal choice. It's a real-enough discussion at the moment that who is chosen No. 1 could come down to which team has the pick."

All three are having stellar freshman seasons.

Peterson is averaging 19.3 points and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 52.8 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from three. Dybantsa is putting up 20.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, shooting 55.5 percent from the floor and 34.8 percent from three. And Boozer is putting up 23 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists and a block per game, shooting 55.9 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from three.

It's a very good year to potentially have a top-three pick, in other words.
