Kobe Bryant, Shaq Signed Game-Used Ball from Lakers' 2000 NBA Title Sets Record

The game-used ball from Game 6 of the 2000 NBA Finals, which was signed by Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal and the other 10 players on the 1999-00 NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers, has sold at auction for $508,000 at Sotheby's.

This easily breaks an auction record for a championship-clinching ball, topping the previous mark of $107,950 from the Oklahoma City Thunder's 2025 NBA title.

That matchup, which resulted in the Lakers winning 116-111 over the Indiana Pacers, was a momentous occasion for numerous reasons.

First, it represented the first-ever championship for both Bryant and O'Neal. Bryant ended up winning five, while O'Neal won four in their decorated careers.

Second, it was the Lakers' first championship since 1988. That title started a new dynasty in Los Angeles, which won three straight NBA championships from 2000-2002. In fact, that run represents the last three-peat in league history.

Third, that game featured key performances from a couple legends. O'Neal posted 41 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks. Bryant added 26 points, 10 boards, four assists and two blocks.

The Lakers trailed by five entering the fourth quarter but ended up winning by five to seal the hard-fought win.
