Latest News on Steph Curry's Timeline to Return to Warriors amid Quad Injury
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry will be back on the court on Friday.
Per ESPN's Anthony Slater, Curry will return from a quad injury against the Minnesota Timberwolves. According to Slater, the Warriors had been targeting Friday's game "since last week."
Curry said Thursday that he is "pretty optimistic" about how his rehab has gone.
The return comes as the Warriors sit in eighth place in the Western Conference at 13-12. Despite being 37 years old, Curry has maintained a high level of play, putting up 27.9 points per game to lead the way for Golden State.
While Curry has played well when on the court this season, he's had to miss some time for various ailments over the first few months. He tweaked his ankle in mid-November and had to miss a game, and suffered a thigh contusion at the end of November and has been out since.
Luckily for the Warriors, Curry hasn't had many serious injuries in recent years, as he played 70-plus games in each of the last two seasons, and he'll look to stay on the court following the quad injury to keep his streak of healthy campaigns alive.
With Curry back in the fold, the Warriors will look to take advantage of a favorable schedule ahead. While Golden State has a handful of tough opponents over the next month or so, it will play 14 of 20 games at home and has no back-to-backs until after the new year, which is perfect for Curry as he continues to manage any pain from his injury.
