Lakers' LeBron James Reflects on Which Game in NBA Career He Was Most 'On Fire'
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has had many memorable moments showcasing his scoring prowess, but one game stands out from the rest.
During Tuesday's episode of the Mind the Game podcast (30:10 mark), a fan submitted a question to James about which game he felt he was most "on fire" during his legendary career. The 23-year veteran pointed to his 48-point explosion against the Detroit Pistons in Game 5 of the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals, as he scored the last 25 points for the Cleveland Cavaliers, including a game-winning layup with 2.2 seconds left.
"I don't know how young this person is or how old this person is to ask this question, but they have to look up Bruce Leroy from The Last Dragon. I had this 'Bruce Leroy Glow' feeling around me that night that I could not even explain," James said of that performance. "The shots that I was making, I was taking shots that either I had worked on, but I didn't log enough hours with some of those shots. ... But that night, I had a 'Bruce Leroy Glow,' man, that's the best way I could describe it. I was in the zone."

James' special showing against the Pistons is widely regarded as one of the best playoff performances of all time. The Cavs went on to win the series in six games and advance to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.
Even at 40 years old, James still admitted that it's hard to describe what it feels like to be in the zone the way he was against the Pistons nearly two decades ago.
"If you ask anybody, 'What does it feel like to be in the zone?' It's the most unexplainable thing, you just can't explain it," he said. "I just had a feeling."
