What is Isaiah Hartenstein's Timeline to Return to Thunder amid Calf Injury?

Oklahoma City Thunder center Isaiah Hartenstein will be sidelined for at least 10 days with a right calf strain, the team announced Saturday.

Hartenstein was scratched shortly before Friday's win over the Phoenix Suns with what the Thunder described at the time as ankle soreness.

He will now be re-evaluated in "10 to 14 days" for a right soleus strain, according to the Thunder. The soleus is a muscle in the lower calf.

The Thunder will play a second straight game without their top rebounder as the defending champs ride an 11-game win streak into Sunday's matchup at the Portland Trail Blazers.

He previously suffered a left soleus strain last January that sidelined him for 11 days and five games, per Justin Martinez of The Oklahoman.

Hartenstein opened the 2025-26 season by starting each of the Thunder's first 19 games.

He was averaging career highs of 12.2 points and 67.1 percent shooting from the field while also putting up 10.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault credited Hartenstein earlier this month with making "the game easier for his teammates" with his ability to read plays on the court.

Despite sitting on top of the Western Conference after a 19-1 start to the 2025 season, the Thunder have dealt with multiple injuries to key players this fall.

Jalen Williams missed the first 19 games of the campaign amid his recovery from right wrist surgery before making his season debut Friday.

Chet Holmgren, Lugentz Dort, Alex Caruso, Aaron Wiggins, Kenrich Williams and Isaiah Joe also each missed time while Williams was sidelined.

The Thunder are scheduled to play games against the Portland Trail Blazers (Nov. 30), Golden State Warriors (Dec. 2), Dallas Mavericks (Dec. 5) and Utah Jazz (Dec. 7) over the next 10 days.

Holmgren started at center during Friday's win against the Suns. The Thunder are likely to continue leaning on him at the 5 for at least those four games while Hartenstein recovers.
