NBA Rumors: Latest on David Lee Trade, Kendall Marshall and More
During the whirlwind of rumors, trades and signings, some deals seem to linger for weeks without being officially announced. In case you're wondering what's happening with the trade that was set to send David Lee from the Golden State Warriors to the Boston Celtics for Gerald Wallace, ESPN.com's Marc Stein has the latest:
With Lee landing in Boston, both the Celtics and Warriors will be able to move on with other small moves to improve their teams for the 2015-16 season. Lee never quite fit in with the Warriors last season, though he had his moments in the postseason.
He'll give the Celtics another scoring option in the frontcourt. Lee averaged 7.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game last season, but the 32-year-old has averaged a double-double four times in his career.
During the 2013-14 season, Lee put up 18.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game for the Warriors under then head coach Mark Jackson.
Wallace figures to play a negligible role for the Warriors, if he isn't jettisoned off to another team before playing a game. Wallace is scheduled to make $10.1 million during the upcoming season in the last year of a four-year $40-million deal.
Lee will also be coming off the Celtics' books at the end of the season. He'll earn $15.4 million in the final year of six-year $79.5 million deal.
Kendall Marshall on Minnesota's Radar

When Kendall Marshall has gotten consistent playing time, he's played well. Apparently, the Minnesota Timberwolves are believers. Per Darren Wolfson of ESPN 1500 in Minneapolis, there's some interest in the 23-year-old point guard:
Marshall appeared in just 28 games last season for the Milwaukee Bucks and averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 assists. The previous year, Marshall got a good amount of playing time with the Los Angeles Lakers and he responded.
In 54 games, he averaged eight points and 8.8 assists.
Minnesota would be hoping they could get Marshall to play a reserve point guard role. Things could be getting pretty crowded at the position. With Zach LaVine, Ricky Rubio and rookie Tyus Jones already on the roster, you'd have to wonder if signing a veteran like Marshall would mean one of the players from that group might be on the move.
Milutinov Doesn't Appear to Be Headed to NBA Soon

The San Antonio Spurs drafted 20-year-old Serbian center Nikola Milutinov with the 26th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft. It seemed clear he would be a draft-and-stash player and recent news seems to confirm he won't be in the NBA for a while.
E.Carchia of Sportando wrote:
"Olympiacos is negotiating with Nikola Milutinov, according to sources. The Serbian big man selected by the Spurs in the first round of the 2015 NBA draft will likely leave Partizan Belgrade and may join the Greek powerhouse. Olympiacos is on the market for a big man and Milutinov is the main target now.
"
Because Milutinov is so young, he could theoretically spend a couple years honing his craft in Greece before being ready to come to the NBA. That could coincide nicely with the departure of Tim Duncan.
