Anthony Davis Reveals Reaction to Nico Harrison's Mavs Firing After Luka Trade
Dallas Mavericks big man Anthony Davis provided his reaction on Wednesday to the firing of general manager Nico Harrison following a question from Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News.
Harrison was fired on Nov. 11 after his team's 3-8 start. He controversially traded five-time All-NBA guard Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers on Feb. 1 for a package that notably brought Davis back to Dallas.
Dončić is now averaging 35.2 points, 9.2 assists and 8.8 rebounds per game for the 13-4 Lakers, who are tied for second in the Western Conference.
Davis has only 14 games for the Mavs (including five this season) as he's dealt with numerous injuries, including a left calf strain at this moment.
The 5-14 Mavericks are also floundering through a season that has them second-last in the Western Conference, although the team is also missing nine-time All-Star guard Kyrie Irving, who is out with a torn ACL suffered last March.
Of course, when healthy, the 32-year-old Davis is a tremendous player, one who should be in the Basketball Hall of Fame someday. The 10-time All-Star and five-time All-NBA player, who is a member of the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team, has averaged 24.1 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks over his career.
Unfortunately, AD is currently sidelined, although he'd like to return Friday against his old team.
That NBA Cup matchup will take place at 10 p.m. ET in Los Angeles.
