Luka Doncic Calls Out Lakers' 'Dangerous' NBA Cup Court After Win vs. Clippers
Los Angeles Lakers superstar guard Luka Dončić took issue with the safety of the Crypto.com Arena court following the Lakers' 135-118 NBA Cup group play win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night.
Speaking to reporters after the convincing victory, Dončić voiced his concerns about the playing conditions, saying, "It's just slippery. It's dangerous. I slipped. I slipped a lot of times and you could see a lot of players slipped. And that's dangerous, man."

Tuesday's court was a unique one, as it was bright yellow in color. That has been a hallmark of the NBA Cup with the league's 30 teams playing their group play games on courts that feature bold colors rather than the typical wooden look.
Just one day earlier, the NHL's Los Angeles Kings hosted a home game against the Ottawa Senators at Crypto.com Arena. Lakers head coach JJ Redick suggested that could have resulted in excess moisture on the court, telling reporters, "Sometimes courts just don't dry well when there's condensation on it."
Dončić noted that he noticed the court was slippery during pregame warmups. He added that he didn't recall the NBA Cup courts in Memphis and New Orleans having the same issues.
Per ESPN's Dave McMenamin, the Lakers are aware of the issue and working to fix it before the Lakers host the Dallas Mavericks in another NBA Cup group game on Friday.
Despite the court issues, Dončić didn't miss a beat, as he maintained his MVP level of play.
Dončić's 43 points on 14-of-28 shooting led all scorers, plus he pitched in 13 assists and nine rebounds, narrowly missing out on a triple-double.
Austin Reaves added another 31 points and LeBron James scored 25 for a Lakers team that shot 57 percent from the field in their group-clinching victory.
The Lakers also improved to 13-4 on the season, giving them the second-best record in the Western Conference behind only the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder, who are 17-1.
While the Lakers have already advanced to the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup, a win over the Mavs on Friday will ensure they play their quarterfinal game at home.
Should that happen, the Crypto.com Arena crew will have until Dec. 9 or 10 to potentially solve the issue associated with the NBA Cup court.
