Cooper Flagg's Shooting Called Out by Fans as Mavs Lose to Grizzlies Without Ja Morant
Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks fell 102-96 to the Memphis Grizzlies without Ja Morant on Saturday at home, dropping to 5-13 on the season.
Flagg shot just 4-of-15 from the field, struggling to find a rhythm, and finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. Klay Thompson led off the bench with 22 points on 6-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc.
The Grizzlies were without Morant, who is out with a right calf strain, leaving Santi Aldama to lead the way with 20 points and eight rebounds, while Zach Edey added 12 points and 15 boards.
Fans reacted to Flagg's shooting woes as Dallas fell to Memphis.
Despite Daniel Gafford tying it late with a layup, the Mavs immediately surrendered a bucket on the other end after a defensive breakdown. Out of a timeout, Edey blocked a potential game-winner from the Mavs, forcing Dallas into a free-throw game that the Grizzlies ultimately closed out.
Mavericks will begin a four-game road trip against the Miami Heat on Monday.
