Dillon Brooks Shades Julius Randle for 'Talking Too Much' After Suns' Win vs. T-Wolves
Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks took a shot at Minnesota Timberwolves forward Julius Randle following the Suns' 114-113 home win on Friday night.
Speaking to reporters after the victory, Brooks suggested that Randle was talking trash before making pivotal mistakes that cost the T-Wolves the game:

"They were talking too early and I love that," Brooks said. "When guys get too confident and once the pressure starts heating up, their eyes start getting big and they start getting scared. The person who was talking too much made the two turnovers and missed the shot."
Randle committed a pair of turnovers during the final 25 seconds of the game, one of which led to a Jordan Goodwin basket that shrunk Phoenix's deficit to one point.
After Collin Gillespie made the go-ahead shot for the Suns with 6.4 seconds remaining, Randle also took the last shot of the game, missing what would have been a game-winning trifecta.
Although Randle was second on the Timberwolves with 20 points, he also committed five turnovers, and none were bigger or more costly than the two that occurred late in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, Brooks continued his spectacular offensive production, leading the Suns with 22 points, which marked his third game with 20 or more points over his past four outings.
For the season, Brooks is averaging 21.0 points per game, which would represent a new career high over the course of an entire campaign.
In the past three seasons prior to 2025-26, Brooks didn't even reach the 15-point-per-game mark, but he has been a much bigger part of the offense in Phoenix than he was with the Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets.
The Suns acquired Brooks as part of the offseason trade that sent Kevin Durant to Houston, and Phoenix has been far better than anyone could have predicted coming out of it.
At 10-6, the Suns now have the same record as a Timberwolves team that has gone to back-to-back Western Conference Finals, and they are currently the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
While Randle wasn't at his best in crunch time Friday, he has played a major role in Minnesota's success since arriving in a trade with the New York Knicks.
Randle was part of the deal that sent Karl-Anthony Towns to New York, and while Towns had a strong first season with the Knicks, Randle replaced much of his production in Minnesota, averaging 18.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game last season.
So far this season, Randle is averaging 24.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists per contest.
The T-Wolves have been somewhat inconsistent as a team, but if the past two years are any indication, they typically play their best on the postseason stage.
Provided they both stay healthy, Brooks and Randle will meet again when the Timberwolves host the Suns on Dec. 8, and based on how both teams are playing, perhaps a playoff series could be possible as well.
