Who Should Be Mavs GM? Metta World Peace Makes His Case After Nico Harrison Firing
After the Dallas Mavericks fired general manager Nico Harrison last week, a former NBA star threw his hat in the ring to be his replacement.
While speaking to TMZ, Metta World Peace was asked about his reaction to Harrison's firing, and he asserted that he should be a candidate for the job opening.
"I think I'm suited to be the GM of the Dallas Mavericks," he said.

Luka, Cade Eligible for MVP
A one-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers and a former NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Metta World Peace has no formal front office experience, but he feels that he's been around the game long enough to know how to run a franchise.
"The reason I say that is because I got so much experience," he said. "46 years old, I've been in Cal State, L.A., Division II women's basketball for seven years. Also, entrepreneurship, running a business, which is really hard. Running a basketball business would be fairly easy; running a sports business is fairly easy at the highest level, whether it's president or general manager. I'm running all operations. So, I think they should look at me."
The Mavs promoted assistant GMs Michael Finley and Matthew Ricciardi to run basketball operations in the interim while they search for a new GM. It's likely that the team will be evaluating a long list of candidates, so it will be interesting to see if Metta World Peace gets his shot to earn the role.
