Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant once again will be sidelined for a chunk of the season.

Morant left the Grizzlies' Saturday night game at the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first quarter with calf soreness and did not return.
He had played just six minutes while recording seven points, two assists and one rebound before exiting the game.
This isn't the first time injuries have impacted Morant's availability this season. He was limited during the preseason after spraining his left ankle on Oct. 6.
Morant then suffered a right ankle injury during a Nov. 11 loss to the New York Knicks, while sidelined him for a Nov. 12 defeat by the Boston Celtics.
He returned to the lineup on Nov. 15 only to play less than a quarter before exiting with his latest injury.
Availability has been a career-long issue for Morant, who has never played more than the 67 games he appeared in as a rookie in 2019-20. Last season, he was limited to just 50 appearances in part due to injuries, including hip subluxation and an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder.
Heading into Saturday's matchup with the Cavs, Morant had averaged 18.9 points and 8.1 assists per game during the Grizzlies' 4-10 start to the season. Although he's been averaging fewer points than in his last few seasons, he has remained key to directing his team's offense.
The Grizzlies will hope to have him back as soon as possible as first-year head coach Tuomas Iisalo looks to help turn around what has so far been a disappointing start to the season in Memphis.
