Wolves HC Trolls JJ Redick, Says Podcasting Will 'Qualify You to Coach' Lakers
JJ Redick led the Los Angeles Lakers to the playoffs in his first season as an NBA head coach, but some coaches around the league still believe he was a bit unqualified.
Appearing on a live episode of The Zach Lowe Show, Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch was discussing podcasting when he took a jab at Redick.
"I mean, it'll qualify you to coach the Lakers," Finch said.

It's no secret that Redick had no prior coaching experience when he was hired as the Lakers' head coach ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. He had spent the years since his retirement primarily as a podcaster and even hosted a podcast alongside Lakers star LeBron James.
Nonetheless, Los Angeles took a chance on Redick rather than an established head coach.
In Redick's first season at the helm, the Lakers finished 50-32 to earn the No. 3 seed in the West, but they fell to Finch's Timberwolves in five games in the first round.
Redick has the Lakers playing well this year after an 8-4 start, and he'll look to put together a second season that will have no one doubting his qualifications.
