Doug Christie 'F--king Embarrassed' About 'Shameful' Kings Effort in Loss to Hawks

Timothy RappNov 13, 2025

The Sacramento Kings lost to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night, 133-100, dropping to 3-9 on the season after a fourth straight loss by double-digits.

As you might imagine, head coach Doug Christie was not pleased with what he described as a "shameful" effort.

"I was embarrassed," he told reporters after the contest. "I wish I could've put on the jersey. At 55, I would've showed you better than that. At least I'm going to use all six fouls. I can't move, but I'm going to foul the s--t out of somebody."

"Put on a jersey, represent it properly," he added. "... I'm f--king embarrassed. Unacceptable. Period. It is. This is a simple one. This ain't even hard. Sometimes you come up here and you try and figure out, 'Well, you know, maybe I go look back and look at [the tape].' I don't need to look at no tape. Probably won't look at it. I've seen it once live. Damn if you want to look at it again, but I will."

The Kings had a 12-point second quarter during Wednesday's loss, were out-rebounded 45-35, gave up 33 fast-break points and shot just 39.1 percent from the field. It wasn't pretty, and Christie wasn't about to mince words on the matter.
