Will Jaxson Dart Concussion Be Investigated By NFL, NFLPA? Latest Report on Giants QB
New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart suffered a concussion late in the third quarter of his team's 24-20 road loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday after taking a hard hit that caused a lost fumble.
The star rookie returned to the game on his team's next drive and participated in a pair of plays before the quarter ended. He then went to the blue medical tent for evaluation and was later ruled out.
That sequence leads to questioning about why Dart went back in the game after the hit. However, per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, the NFL and NFLPA will not be conducting a joint investigation into the matter.

The Giants came under fire after Dart was evaluated for a concussion during a 34-17 home win over the Philadelphia Eagles back in October. Then-Giants head coach Brian Daboll opened the blue medical tent to check in on Dart, as did running back Cam Skattebo.
"While the parties agreed that Coach Daboll's and Mr. Skattebo's actions had no actual impact on the exam or the care that Mr. Dart received, their conduct was inconsistent with and demonstrated a disregard for the concussion protocol's requirements and therefore constituted a violation," an NFL-NFLPA joint statement read in part, per NFL digital content editor Jeremy Bergman.
The Giants were fined $200,000, Daboll was fined $100,000 and Skattebo was fined $15,000.
On Sunday, as Leonard noted, the league's concussion spotter and unaffiliated neurological consultants, who were located at Chicago's Soldier Field, did not call for an evaluation right after the Dart play. In addition, New York did not issue an examination of Dart.
The Giants then checked on him between the third and fourth quarters, and he then went back to the locker room.
This marks the fourth time Dart has been checked for a concussion this year, per Leonard.
The rookie out of Ole Miss has been fantastic for the Giants in seven starts, accounting for 1,417 yards and 10 touchdowns (three interceptions), 317 rushing yards and seven scores.
