The NBA revealed the thought process behind this year's set of alternate uniforms for all 30 teams in a press release. The City Edition jerseys are now available to purchase from retailers such as DICK's Sporting Goods and Nike.com. House of Heat explained the significance of the new collection.
"This latest drop gives fans a refreshed set of designs that celebrate each team's local identity, history, and culture through bold new visual treatments," a release stated. "The collection features both Swingman and Authentic versions built with Nike's Dri-FIT technology, mirroring the performance construction seen on the court. Each jersey includes team branding and city-inspired elements: from graphic motifs referencing hometown landmarks to colorways rooted in local heritage."
Teams will wear the City Edition uniforms for a select number of home games throughout the season, as well as during the league's in-season tournament that has now been dubbed the NBA Cup.
Group play has already begun for the NBA Cup and will conclude later this month before transitioning to the knockout stage starting on Dec. 9. Teams will be hoping to advance to the championship game in Las Vegas on Dec. 16.
