Luka Doncic, Lakers' Blowout Loss Without LeBron, Reaves to Hawks Stuns NBA Fans

Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers fell 122–102 to the short-handed Atlanta Hawks, who were without Trae Young and several key players, as L.A. continued to play without LeBron James and Austin Reaves.

The road loss on Saturday snapped the Lakers' five-game win streak and marked their first road loss of the season, dropping them to 7–3 overall, while the Hawks improved to 5–5.

Doncic led the way for Los Angeles with 22 points, five rebounds and 11 assists on 7-of-17 shooting, doing his best to keep the Lakers competitive despite the absences.

Lakers' big man DeAndre Ayton added 11 points on a perfect 5-of-5 from the field and grabbed five rebounds, while Dalton Knecht scored 14 points and Bronny James contributed nine points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 18 minutes off the bench.

Atlanta's Mouhamed Gueye powered the Hawks with 21 points, seven assists and seven rebounds, while Zaccharie Rischer added 19 points and four assists as Atlanta picked up the win despite missing several starters.

The Lakers' blowout loss to a depleted Atlanta team stunned fans on social media.

The Hawks ran out to a 68–54 lead at halftime despite Doncic pouring in 22 points over the first two quarters to keep the Lakers within striking distance.

Behind a balanced offensive attack and relentless defense, Atlanta extended its lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter, prompting Los Angeles to wave the white flag early as the Hawks cruised to an easy 20-point victory

The Lakers will continue their five-game road trip with a matchup against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday.
