When Will De'Aaron Fox Make Spurs Season Debut amid Recovery from Hamstring Injury?
San Antonio Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox has not taken the court during the 2025-26 season to this point because of a hamstring injury, but that is reportedly about to change.
ESPN's Shams Charania reported Friday that Fox is planning on making his season debut in Saturday's home game against the New Orleans Pelicans after he "ramped up this week" in his recovery process.

Castle, Harper Lead Spurs to Win Without Wemby
The timing is ideal for the Spurs considering they have lost two in a row following a red-hot 5-0 start.
Backcourt depth is also more of a concern heading into Saturday's game against the Pelicans than it was at the start of the season considering rookie Dylan Harper is sidelined by a calf injury. He was one of the primary replacements for Fox prior to his own setback.
When healthy, Fox can be a focal-point playmaker who can impact the game in a number of ways.
He was an All-Star and All-NBA Third-Team selection in 2022-23 with the Sacramento Kings and averaged 23.5 points, 6.3 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game last season with the Kings and Spurs.
Fox's ability to facilitate makes him an ideal running partner with Victor Wembanyama with pick-and-rolls and lobs, but he can also take over as a scorer if opposing defenses pay too much attention to the big man.
His presence will change the overall offense for the Spurs as they look to contend in a daunting Western Conference and snap a playoff drought that dates back to the 2018-19 campaign.
