Oscar Delp NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for New Orleans Saints TE
The New Orleans Saints selected Georgia TE Oscar Delp with the No. 73 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
Oscar Delp is a vertical, seam busting tight end with explosive speed and three down upside for an NFL offense. He's become a versatile blocker for the Bulldogs offense, and springs multiple runs a game for their offense.
Underutilized as a pass catcher, the 6'5" 245-pound prospect showcases his burst after the catch by reducing pursuit angles by linebackers and defensive backs, regularly.
Delp is a former 4-star recruit who's spent his entire four-year collegiate career at Georgia; he has nine touchdowns in his career and hasn't realized his offensive potential. The alignment versatile tight end will be a functional TE2 to start his career, but could lead a room with some development.

Where He Wins
2 of 5
— Delp is a multi-functional tight end who has run and pass blocking ability to aid on all three downs.
— Possesses NFL size and athleticism to transition to the next level and has room to add mass without losing a step. That size helps him move people in the run game, along with relocating his hands to get better leverage and drive blocks.
— His speed down the seam is a weapon; second and third-level defenders have to respect it, or he will run right by them. That speed greatly helps reduce pursuit angles after the catch.
— Plays with good timing as a route runner and when jumping for the football. Delp shows soft hands and quick transition after the catch.
Areas of Improvement
3 of 5
— Physical defenders can bump him off his route and maintain connectivity in man coverage without much difficulty. He needs to add more route nuance, manipulation tactics, and expand his route tree to keep defenders guessing.
— As a blocker, Delp can be too top heavy and fall over his feet, giving smarter defenders quick paths by him. Shoring up his footwork and limiting the lunging can clean up his technique.
— His playstyle needs a physicality boost. From in-line blocking to outworking defenders at the catch point and everywhere in between, his game would benefit from a greater effort to use his size.
