Breece Hall Says He Never Requested Trade from Jets at 2025 NFL Deadline amid Rumors
After speculation arose that running back Breece Hall was unhappy to remain with the New York Jets beyond Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, he's setting the record straight.
Hall told reporters on Wednesday that he never formally requested a trade from the Jets before the deadline. However, he played coy when asked whether he actually wanted to be traded or not.

Hall's denial comes after NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported with an hour left before Tuesday's deadline that he "wants to be out." When the 24-year-old wasn't traded, Schultz followed up by reporting that New York felt the offers it received for him "weren't good enough."
While Hall was expected to be the Jets' top trade candidate because he's in the final year of his rookie contract, they instead surprisingly shipped away two of their defensive cornerstones by sending star cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts and veteran defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys. The deals included three future first-round picks, giving New York five first-round selections between the 2026 and 2027 drafts.
Trading Hall likely would've secured more draft capital in later rounds, but it would've left the Jets without one of their best offensive weapons. The fourth-year speedster has rushed for 581 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 5.0 yards per carry, and he's also added 21 catches for 178 yards. He threw the game-winning touchdown in New York's miraculous 39-38 comeback win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8, the team's first win of the season.
Regardless of whether or not Hall desired a change in scenery, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn made it clear that he wasn't going to give him up easily.
"Breece was not a guy I wanted to get rid of," Glenn told reporters on Wednesday. "He's a damn good player. Any of those (reports) that came out, I don't know what you're talking about."
Hall and the Jets will go for their second win of the year when they return from their bye week on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns (2-6).
