Jets' Aaron Glenn Talks Breece Hall Trade Rumors, 'Not a Guy I Wanted to Get Rid Of'
New York Jets running back Breece Hall surprisingly wasn't moved at Tuesday's trade deadline despite his reported desire for a new home, and head coach Aaron Glenn made it clear that he wasn't ready to part ways with the speedster.
When asked about the rumors that Hall wanted a "fresh start," Glenn told reporters on Wednesday, "Breece was not a guy I wanted to get rid of. He's a damn good player. Any of those (reports) that came out, I don't know what you're talking about."
Hall is in the final year of his rookie contract, so many projected him as a prime trade candidate leading up to Tuesday's deadline. While the 24-year-old never publicly requested a trade, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported with an hour left before the deadline that he "wants to be out."

Whether or not Hall vocalized that desire to the Jets, it appears that they valued him enough to turn down the trade offers from contending teams despite their significant interest. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler also pointed out that teams weren't willing to overpay to acquire him, as "the running back market never intensified," and no ball-carriers were dealt this week.
The Jets are still running the risk of losing Hall to the open market this offseason if they choose not to franchise tag him and let him test the open market. However, Hall's most recent performance could be enough to convince New York's brass to retain him beyond this season.
In the Jets' 39-38 comeback win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8 for their first victory of the year, Hall put the team on his back, registering 18 carries for 133 yards and two touchdowns and throwing the game-winning touchdown to rookie tight end Mason Taylor. All three of his scores came in the fourth quarter as New York erased a 15-point deficit, the second-largest fourth-quarter comeback in franchise history.
It remains to be seen if the Jets pony up with a new deal to keep Hall in the fold long-term, but it can be expected that Glenn will be making a push for him to stick around in 2026 and beyond.
