Tyrese Haliburton Says He Got Drug Tested After Video of Dunk amid Injury Rehab
Indiana Pacers star point guard Tyrese Haliburton's continued recovery from his torn Achilles appears to have raised some eyebrows across the NBA.
Haliburton revealed in a tweet that after he posted a video of himself dunking amid his injury rehab, he was administered a drug test by the NBA.
Haliburton was ruled out for the entire 2025-26 season after suffering a torn Achilles in Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Still, he's shown remarkable progress, and he surprised fans when he posted a video of him dunking with the caption, "Week 17."
Haliburton isn't the only ailing star who's shown impressive recovery skills. Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum declared that he's not ruling himself out for the season despite suffering a torn Achilles in last year's playoffs, and Portland Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard recently showcased that his three-point shot is intact while he also recovers from a torn Achilles.
The Pacers have struggled without Haliburton, getting off to a 1-6 start this season. Indiana fell to the rival Milwaukee Bucks 117-115 on Monday night on a game-winning jumper by star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo in a game that featured the return of former Pacers center Myles Turner, who received a contentious reaction from fans at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
While Haliburton's progress is encouraging, he won't be back to save the day for Indiana anytime soon. The Pacers will be back in action on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets.
