5-Star SF Alex Constanza Commits to Georgetown over Kansas, NC State
Georgetown basketball landed a huge commitment out of the class of 2026 on Saturday.
According to Rivals' Joe Tipton, 5-star forward prospect Alex Constanza committed to Ed Cooley and the Hoyas, marking Georgetown's highest-ranked recruit in almost two decades.

Constanza is considered the No. 20 overall player and the eighth-ranked small forward in the class of 2026 by 247Sports' Composite Rankings. He picked Georgetown over NC State, Kansas, Syracuse and more.
Constanza told Tipton that he picked the Hoyas because Georgetown "felt like home" and he had a strong connection with the coaching staff.
"Coach Cooley kept it real from day one," he said. "I feel like the connection was natural and the opportunity to make an impact right away really stood out."
Constanza is Cooley's second commitment from the class of 2026. He joined 4-star power forward Justin Caldwell, who committed to the Hoyas in August.
Georgetown, which once was a mainstay of the NCAA tournament, has been a shell of itself in recent years. The Hoyas haven't been to the tournament since the 2020-21 season and haven't made it out of the first round since the 2014-15 campaign.
After moving on from Patrick Ewing and hiring Cooley, there were some growing pains in 2023-24, but Georgetown doubled its win total in Cooley's second season, finishing 18-16 last year.
Now the Hoyas have some momentum on the recruiting trail, and they'll look to continue bringing in top-ranked prospects.
Putting together an NCAA tournament run would do wonders in re-establishing the program, and Georgetown will begin its quest on Monday when it faces Morgan State.
