Jermaine Johnson Eyed by Eagles at NFL Trade Deadline, Jets Have 'High Asking Price'
The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to bolster their defensive line by adding an edge rusher ahead of next week's deadline, and they reportedly are interested in Jermain Johnson of the New York Jets.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported Saturday that the Eagles have asked the Jets about Johnson, but "New York has held a high asking price of a second-round pick or better."
Johnson's name has come up in trade rumors for several weeks now, but New York reportedly has stood firm in its asking price. Connor Hughes of SNY reported earlier this month one team involved in trade conversations with the Jets said it would take "a lot" for them to move on from Johnson.

One NFL staffer said the Jets aren't "serious" trade candidates because their asking prices are too high.
"The Jets are listening, but their prices are high, which tells me they're not serious about trading … yet," an assistant general manager told Fox Sports' Ralph Vacchiano.
Johnson also made comments this week that indicated that he's not going to be dealt.
After posting a GIF with the caption "I'm not leavin,'" he explained to ESPN's Rich Cimini that the Jets have reassured him about his future in New York.
"I'm definitely wanted here and I want to stay here. That's been understood. Hence, the tweet," Johnson told Cimini.
He also said there has been "clarity and communication" with the Jets front office and that "it's all good" between the two sides.
While it seems the Jets aren't that interested in trading Johnson, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler noted that the team "would be more willing to part with Johnson than Will McDonald IV if it made any move at the position."
The Jets are 1-7 and should be sellers at the deadline, but the Eagles might have to find their defensive line help from somewhere else, given New York's hesitancy to move on from Johnson.
Johnson, a first-round pick in 2022, has logged 19 tackles, a sack and a pass defended in five games this year.
