
Trae Young, Terrell Owens, Dirk Nowitzki, More to Play in Celebrity Pickleball Series
Numerous current and former athletes and celebrities are taking the pickleball court in various forms.
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young and ex-superstar NFL quarterback Drew Brees are among those who will be starring in a new series called Celebrity Pickleball, which begins airing on Nov. 5 on Pickleball TV.
A press release from Pickleball TV provided the information on Thursday, stating that Celebrity Pickleball is "a fast-paced new series hosted by celebrity coach Matt Manasse that blends sport, personality and pop culture. Each episode puts viewers courtside as Matt drills guests through dinks, drops and volleys while revealing their competitive side in candid, laugh-out-loud interviews.
"The all-star lineup includes Drew Brees, James Valentine, Katie Couric, Trae Young, Marcellus Wiley, David Dobrik, Hannah Stocking and Danny Duncan."
Pickleball TV is available on numerous streaming platforms, including YouTube TV, Fubo, Samsung TV Plus and Roku.
Per Pickleball TV's website, Brees' episode will first air on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 10 p.m. ET. He will appear alongside Maroon 5 guitarist James Valentine.
Young's episode will air on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. ET. He will appear alongside former NFL defensive end (and current ESPN NFL analyst) Marcellus Wiley.
In addition, NBA Hall of Famer and Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki is hosting the Celebrity Pickleball Showdown in Dallas on Wednesday, November 5. It will air on Tennis Channel at 8 p.m. ET.
Per the press release, "the special event pairs pros including Ben Johns, Jack Sock, Genie Bouchard, Anna Bright and Tyson McGuffin with pop-culture icons like Terrell Owens, J.D. Martinez and Tfue for a night of competitive fun, all part of World Championships week in Dallas and benefitting the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation."
The Celebrity Pickleball Showdown is slated to take place on the second day of the 2025 Jenius Bank Pickleball World Championships, which will run from Nov. 4-9.
