The Toronto Blue Jays are one win away from clinching the team's third World Series title in franchise history.

Led by historic performances from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Trey Yesavage, the Blue Jays secured a 6-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 of the 2025 Fall Classic on Wednesday night and now own a 3-2 series lead.

According to DraftKings, the Blue Jays have -240 odds to win the World Series despite sitting at +122 underdogs in Game 6.

Guerrero went 1-for-3 with a pair of walks, recording a solo home run in the top of the first inning to go back-to-back with Davis Schneider.

It marked Guerrero's eighth homer in the 2025 postseason, tied for the second-most ever in a single playoff run.

Fans were amazed by his performance.

The consecutive home runs were able to keep Toronto ahead for the rest of the contest due to the heroics of Yesavage, who pitched seven innings of one-run ball.

He racked up 12 strikeouts, a new rookie World Series record, without giving up a walk and allowing a mere three hits.

He also became the first pitcher in World Series history to compile at least 12 strikeouts without a walk.

Fans and pundits recognized Yesavage's momentous achievement.

Yesavage's lone blemish during the game was a solo home run from Kiké Hernández in the third inning, cutting Toronto's lead to 2-1.

The Blue Jays secured another two-run lead with a sacrifice fly from Ernie Clement in the top of the fourth inning before gaining some more breathing room in the seventh.

With two outs and runners on the corners, Toronto scored on a wild pitch from Dodgers reliever Edgardo Henriquez. After Guerrero walked in the same at-bat, Bo Bichette followed it up with an RBI single that gave the Blue Jays a 5-1 edge.

Another RBI single from Isiah Kiner-Falefa increased Toronto's lead in the eighth inning before Seranthony Domínguez and Jeff Hoffman closed out the victory in two innings of relief work.

The Blue Jays won with a balanced effort from their lineup, as eight different players accounted for their nine total hits.

Now, they'll look to close out the series in Game 6 on Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
