Bryce James Scores 2 Points in Extended Playing Time for Arizona vs. Embry-Riddle

Scott PolacekOct 28, 2025

Bryce James will likely be a secondary player for the Arizona men's basketball team during the regular season, but he got plenty of playing time during Monday's exhibition game against Embry-Riddle.

In fact, plenty of Wildcats did in a 113-42 blowout victory.

James played 15 minutes as one of 12 players to play double-digit minutes. He didn't exactly take advantage of that playing time from a statistical standpoint, though, and finished with two points and three rebounds.

Tobe Awaka led the way for Arizona with a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Ivan Kharchenkov added 17 points and four boards.

All eyes were on James seeing how he is the son of NBA legend LeBron James, and the fans in attendance got to see much more of him than when he played just one minute in the first exhibition against St. Mary's.

He arrived at Arizona as a 3-star prospect, per 247Sports' composite rankings, but may need some time to develop his game before he is a primary contributor.

The talented Wildcats may play in a handful of blowouts during the nonconference schedule, which could open the door for more playing time. But there surely won't be a blowout in the season opener, which is a highly anticipated showdown with Florida on Nov. 3.

They also face UCLA, UConn, Auburn, Alabama and San Diego State in nonconference play.

James might not see much playing time in those games, but it will generate plenty of attention if he does.
