T-Wolves' Anthony Edwards Out at Least 1 Week with Hamstring Injury

Andrew PetersOct 27, 2025

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards will miss at least the next week with a right hamstring strain, the team announced on Monday.

Edwards will be re-evaluated in one week to determine if he will miss additional time. ESPN's Shams Charania previously reported Edwards is expected to miss two weeks.

The Minnesota star will miss at least three games between now and Sunday, with a fourth game scheduled for Nov. 3 as well. The Timberwolves have eight games scheduled in the next two weeks.

Edwards suffered the injury during Sunday's 114-110 win over the Indiana Pacers and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the game. He played just three minutes before exiting on Sunday, scoring five points and recording a rebound.

The 24-year-old was enjoying a hot start to his sixth NBA campaign. He recorded 41 points in the Wolves' season-opening win over the Portland Trail Blazers before dropping 31 in a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

One of Edwards' greatest strengths through the first five years of his career has been his durability. He's never played fewer than 72 games, and has played 79 or more in the last three seasons. It's unclear how serious Edwards' injury is, but he hopes to keep his string of good injury luck alive this year.

Thanks in large part to Edwards, the Timberwolves are experiencing some of the best years in their franchise's history. They're coming off a second consecutive Western Conference Finals appearance after previously reaching the conference finals just one time in 2004.

But Edwards and Minnesota are looking to make the jump and get to the Finals this year. With Edwards leading the way and players like Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle and more surrounding him, that goal isn't that unrealistic.

For now, the Wolves will focus on their star getting healthy.
