Knicks' Josh Hart Jokes About His Legs Being 'Cooked' After 14 Rebounds in 19 Minutes

Despite playing just 19 minutes, guard Josh Hart made a sizable impact and emptied the proverbial tank during a 105-95 win over the Boston Celtics on Friday night.

In a post on X, Hart joked about one of his wayward three-point attempts during the fourth quarter, noting that his "legs were cooked."

Hart scored only two points on 1-of-8 shooting in the game, but he grabbed 14 rebounds, including six on the offensive end.

Knicks head coach Mike Brown praised Hart's effort defensively and on the boards, calling him a "monster," and suggesting that he may have never seen a player finish with 14 rebounds in only 19 minutes of action:

While Hart started all 77 games he appeared in for the Knicks last season under head coach Tom Thibodeau, Brown utilized him off the bench Friday in what was Hart's first game action of the season.

The 30-year-old veteran did not play in the Knicks' season-opening win over the Cleveland Cavaliers due to lumbar spasms, which caused him to miss all but one of New York's preseason contests.

On Friday, Miles McBride got the start over Hart along with regular starters Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges.

Hart led all of New York's bench players with 19 minutes played, but each of the five starters played at least 29 minutes.

It stands to reason that Hart will see his minutes increase and perhaps even get re-inserted into the starting lineup as he works his way back to full health, but Brown's distribution of minutes worked out well against the Celtics.

The Knicks, who entered the season as a popular pick to win the Eastern Conference, are off to a 2-0 start after victories over the Celtics and Cavs, who had the best record in the Eastern Conference in 2023-24 and 2024-25, respectively.

New York will look to make it 3-0 on Sunday when it goes on the road to face the Miami Heat.
