Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings, Projections and Matchups to Love
Week 8 got underway with Thursday night's battle between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Chargers. Unfortunately for any fantasy managers who need to rebound from that one, only 12 games remain on the schedule.
That's right, a whopping six teams are on bye this week, and they are some notable ones. The Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks will be off, meaning stars like Trey McBride, Jahmyr Gibbs, Ashton Jeanty, Kyren Williams and Jaxon Smith-Njigba will be unavailable.
Here, you'll find updated rankings and point-per-reception (PPR) projections for the top remaining plays of Week 8, along with some matchups to love.

Matchup to Love: Bo Nix vs. Dallas Cowboys
Second-year quarterback Bo Nix hasn't been particularly reliable this season, logging four games with one or fewer touchdowns. However, he's coming off of a terrific fantasy performance and is heading into a fantastic matchup.
During last week's comeback win over the New York Giants, Nix threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns while adding 48 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
This week, Nix and the Broncos will host the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas' offense is potent enough that Denver will likely need to lean on Nix and the passing game to keep pace. The Cowboys' defense is bad enough that Nix should reward fantasy managers if this is the case.
No team has surrendered more fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks than the Cowboys.
Running Back

- Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles: 16.5 Points
- Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers: 16.2 Points
- D'Andre Swift, Chicago Bears: 16.1 Points
- Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals: 15.8 Points
- Rico Dowdle, Carolina Panthers: 15.3 Points
- Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints; 14.9 Points
- Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City Chiefs; 14.7 Points
Matchup to Love: Breece Hall at Cincinnati Bengals
New York Jets running back Breece Hall has been a low-end RB2 in most weeks this season. He's averaging 11.2 points per game in PPR leagues and has seen his production suffer from New York's lackluster offense.
Hall has yet to find the end zone in 2025.
The Jets may pivot from quarterback Justin Fields to Tyrod Taylor this week, though Taylor is dealing with a knee injury. Taylor replaced Fields for the second half last week and helped open up the passing game a bit.
This could give Hall some breathing room in the ground game, and the matchup is already favorable for him. The Cincinnati Bengals have surrendered more fantasy points to opposing running backs than any other team.
Wide Receiver

- Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals: 23.1 Points
- CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys: 22.6 Points
- Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs: 21.8 Points
- Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 21 Points
- Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos: 20.7 Points
- Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears: 20.1 Points
- Drake London, Atlanta Falcons: 19.8 Points
- A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles: 18.9 Points
- Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints: 18.2 Points
- Michael Pittman Jr., Indianapolis Colts: 18 Points
- DK Metcalf, Pittsburgh Steelers: 16.7 Points
- DeVona Smith, Philadelphia Eagles: 16.6 Points
- Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers: 16.5 Points
- Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens: 16.2 Points
- Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals: 15.9 Points
- Wan'Dale Robinson, New York Giants: 15.8 Points
- George Pickens, Dallas Cowboys: 15.7 Points
- Stefon Diggs, New England Patriots: 15.6 Points
- Xavier Worthy, Kansas City Chiefs: 15.3 Points
- Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins: 15 Points
- Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers: 14.9 Points
- Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills: 14.7 Points
- Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans Saints: 14.5 Points
- Kendrick Bourne, San Francisco 49ers: 14.3 Points
- Alec Pierce, Indianapolis Colts: 14.2 Points
Matchup to Love: Courtland Sutton vs. Dallas Cowboys
Managers expecting Nix to shine against the Cowboys should feel the same way about Denver receiver Courtland Sutton.
Sutton has been a solid WR2 this season, averaging 14.3 fantasy points per game. While he's had the occasional dud—he had just a single reception against the Jets in Week 6—he's trending in the right direction.
The 30-year-old has been targeted 10 times in two of his last three outings. He caught eight passes for 99 yards in Week 5 and had six receptions for 87 yards last Sunday.
Dallas has been just as vulnerable to opposing receivers as it has been to opposing quarterbacks, surrendering a league-high average of 34.1 fantasy points per week to the position.
Tight End

- Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts: 17.3 Points
- Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys: 16.2 Points
- Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers: 15.6 Points
- George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers: 13.5 Points
- Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles: 13.4 Points
- Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills: 13.3 Points
- Mason Taylor, New York Jets: 12.8 Points
- Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs: 12.7 Points
- Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland Browns: 12 Points
- Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders: 11.8 Points
- Hunter Henry, New England Patriots: 11.6 Points
- Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons: 11.5 Points
- Evan Engram, Denver Broncos: 11.2 Points
- Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans: 10.8 Points
- Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 10.2 Points
Matchup to Love: Tucker Kraft at Pittsburgh Steelers
Tucker Kraft might be the closest thing the Green Bay Packers have to a go-to receiver right now. He's certainly been one of the top fantasy tight ends because of his role.
Kraft has averaged 13.3 fantasy points per game this season, placing him firmly in the top five in PPR scoring among tight ends. He has a great chance to exceed his average this week in a potential shootout with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Sunday night's game will, of course, be all about Aaron Rodgers facing his former team. Given the way both defenses have performed recently, we could see a lot of throwing between Rodgers and Jordan Love.
This would benefit Kraft tremendously, as Pittsburgh has been particularly vulnerable to opposing tight ends. The Steelers have surrendered the third-most fantasy points to the position this season.
