LeBron James 'Was Really Helpful' in Lakers Video Session After Warriors Loss, HC Says
Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick revealed that LeBron James helped out in the team's film session following a 119-109 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night.
"Bron was really helpful," Redick told reporters Wednesday.
James didn't suit up in the season-opening defeat, as he was sidelined while dealing with sciatica on his right side.
Luka Dončić attempted to make up for James' absence and did an admirable job, finishing with 43 points and 12 rebounds to go along with nine assists. Dončić also shot 17-of-27 from the field while picking up two steals.
Austin Reaves chipped in with 26 points, but no other member of Los Angeles' rotation recorded more than 10 points in the defeat.
The Lakers were plagued by shooting issues throughout the game, connecting on just 25 percent of their triples and missing 11 free throws. Meanwhile, the Warriors shot 42.5 percent from behind the arc and only missed three free throws.
James' involvement in film sessions for Los Angeles could help the team get on track quickly, as the four-time MVP is one of the most experienced players in NBA history with 22 seasons under his belt.
Still, the Lakers will obviously be hoping that he can get back on the floor as soon as possible.
The 40-year-old didn't show too many signs of slowing down last season, averaging 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game on 51.3/37.6/78.2 shooting splits.
In the meantime, Los Angeles is looking to secure its first win of the 2025-26 season against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.
Tip-off is at 10 p.m. ET.
