Jaylen Waddle Trade Calls Reportedly Rejected by Dolphins, Team Has 'No Interest'
The Miami Dolphins reportedly have been rejecting trade calls for wide receiver Jayden Waddle, as the team has "no interest" in dealing the ex-Alabama star, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
"Several teams have called the Dolphins about star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, and sources say those teams have been told Miami has no interest in trading him. Similar to Simmons for Tennessee, dealing Waddle would signal a look to the future rather than trying to win now. While things can change, it seems far more likely Miami would be willing to deal an edge rusher (perhaps Matt Judon, Bradley Chubb or even Jaelan Phillips)."

Most Likely Post-June 1 Trade Candidates 👋
The 26-year-old Waddle has caught 29 passes for 390 yards and three touchdowns in his fifth NFL season, all with Miami.
This has been a disastrous year for the 1-5 Dolphins, to the point where head coach Mike McDaniel is firmly on the hot seat. Naturally, there are rumors and speculation as to whether the Dolphins would start a fire sale and build for the future. ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques spoke more on that front on Friday.
"Social media swirled this week with trade ideas involving Jaylen Waddle, De'Von Achane, Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb as the Dolphins' 1-5 start to the season led some pundits to predict they will be sellers at the deadline, which is at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 4."
However, McDaniel shut down that talk in a Friday press conference.
"All [trade] rumors about Miami Dolphins players are baseless, currently," McDaniel said. "Personally, this time of year bothers me for the sake of individual players having where he's playing questioned by rumors."
As for Waddle, the ex-Alabama star (and No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft) is a young and exciting talent who is under contract through 2028 after signing a three-year, $84.75 million extension. He amassed at least 1,000 yards in each of his first three NFL seasons before a down year in 2024 (58 catches, 744 yards) that saw the team lose starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to concussion protocol for four full games and a hip injury for two more.
He's on pace for 82 catches and over 1,100 yards this season and has fared quite well of late as the team's No. 1 wide receiver after Tyreek Hill was unfortunately lost for the year on Sept. 29 when he suffered a knee dislocation and multiple torn ligaments against the New York Jets. Waddle has 12 receptions on 205 yards and a touchdown on 17 targets in his last two weeks.
It certainly makes sense that teams would be interested in Waddle, but as of now, the Dolphins reportedly aren't even entertaining trade talks at this point.
For now, Miami looks to get back in the win column on Sunday when the team visits the 1-5 Cleveland Browns.
