Mac McClung Reportedly Lands Bulls Contract, G League MVP Won 3 NBA Slam Dunk Contests
High-flying guard Mac McClung signed with the Chicago Bulls as a free agent on Friday, according to HoopsHype's Michael Scotto.
McClung has won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in each of the past three years and could be on the lookout for a fourth consecutive title.
While the 26-year-old only has six career NBA games under his belt, he's shown promise in the G League with the Osceola Magic.
McClung earned G League MVP honors for his 2023-24 season in Osceola, averaging 25.7 points to go along with 6.6 assists per game. He also shot 50.7 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from three-point territory.
While McClung wasn't able to capture a second consecutive MVP last season in the G League, he still recorded 25.7 points and 5.7 assists per game on 51.0/37.8/82.7 shooting splits.
With training camp winding down, it'll be difficult for McClung to carve out a spot in Chicago's guard rotation that includes Josh Giddey, Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, Tre Jones and Kevin Huerter.
The Bulls also already have 15 players on guaranteed contracts and McClung could find himself on their G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls, once the regular season begins.
