Dolphins' Mike McDaniel Rips 'Baseless' NFL Trade Rumors Ahead of 2025 Deadline
Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel fired back at trade rumors surrounding the team ahead of the Nov. 4 deadline.
"All (trade) rumors about Miami Dolphins players are baseless, currently," McDaniel said Friday, per NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. "And that's unfortunate. Personally, this time of year bothers me for the sake of individual players having where he's playing questioned by rumors."
SNY's Connor Hughes reported Wednesday that the New York Giants are targeting Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, while NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Sunday that Dolphins pass-rusher Bradley Chubb has generated interest on the trade market.

ESPN's Adam Schefter also listed Dolphins linebacker Jaelan Phillips as a player believed to be available prior to the deadline.
Miami entered the 2025 season with expectations of competing for a playoff spot in the AFC after making the postseason in each of McDaniel's first two years with the team and wrapping up an 8-9 finish in 2024 despite Tua Tagovailoa missing six games.
This year, the Dolphins own a mere 1-5 record through six weeks. Their only win has come against the 0-6 New York Jets.
McDaniel's squad has struggled on both sides of the ball, as its average of 289.0 total yards per game ranks No. 27 among all teams. Tagovailoa has also tossed seven interceptions in six starts after he was picked off seven times in 11 appearances last season.
Miami owns the NFL's fourth-worst scoring defense as well, allowing 29.0 points per game.
While the Dolphins may not be actively attempting to trade their players, they could start fielding calls from opposing front offices closer to the deadline if they continue to struggle in order to gain more draft capital to build for future seasons.
