Chris Olave, Jaylen Waddle Reportedly Among Giants Trade Targets at NFL Deadline

Zach BacharOct 15, 2025

There are reportedly several wide receivers on the New York Giants' radar ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline.

New Orleans Saints wideout Chris Olave, Miami Dolphins receiver Jaylen Waddle and Jakobi Meyers of the Las Vegas Raiders are among the team's top targets, according to SNY's Connor Hughes.

Finding a trade agreement won't be easy, as Hughes noted that a challenge in a potential acquisition of Olave or Waddle is "persuading their current teams to part ways."

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported Oct. 8 that it wouldn't be a surprise if opposing front offices started contacting Miami regarding Waddle's availability, but he highly doubted that the team would "entertain" trades for the receiver.

The 26-year-old has remained a key piece of the Dolphins' passing attack to open the 2025 season, hauling in 29 receptions for 390 yards and three touchdowns.

Waddle has been particularly effective while stepping into a larger role due to Tyreek Hill being sidelined with a dislocated knee, recording 205 yards on just 12 catches over his past two games.

As for Olave, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Friday that the former first-round pick was among the players that "could be available" prior to the deadline.

After appearing in only eight games in 2024 due to two concussions, Olave has suited up in all six of New Orleans' regular-season contests to open his 2025 campaign. He's caught 39 passes for 342 yards and one score.

The Giants could be buyers at the deadline if they continue to excel with rookie Jaxson Dart at quarterback, as they own a 2-1 record since he was inserted into their first-team offense in Week 4 despite sitting at just 2-4 overall.

They'll also be looking to make up for the absence of Malik Nabers, who suffered a season-ending torn ACL in Week 4 after wrapping up a stellar rookie year in 2024.

Giants wideout Darius Slayton is also currently working his way back from a hamstring issue that sidelined him in Week 6.

The 2025 trade deadline is on Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. ET.
