If Anthony Edwards were to get traded by the Minnesota Timberwolves, he isn't interested in finding out about the news on social media.
"If you know I'm finna get traded, you better motherf--king text me," Edwards told ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania in a video posted on his YouTube channel (17:19 mark). "Don't leak that s--t on the motherf--king Twitter and X. Man, send me a text. Let me know."

While Edwards' status as Minnesota's franchise player is secure, players discovering their own trades on social media has become common in recent years.
During the 2025 offseason, Kevin Durant found out that he had been traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Houston Rockets while making an appearance at Fanatics Fest after Charania had already posted the news.
As for Edwards, he shouldn't have to worry too much about his involvement in a potential trade.
The three-time All-Star has quickly established himself as a force on both ends of the court, leading the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals in each of the past two seasons. He also signed a five-year extension worth up to $260 million with the organization in July 2023.
During Edwards' 2024-25 campaign, he averaged a career-high 27.6 points to go along with 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from three-point territory.
He also recorded 25.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game on 45.3/35.4/71.9 shooting splits during Minnesota's ensuing playoff run.
Edwards is on the verge of entering his sixth year with the Timberwolves, as they'll open the regular season against the Portland Trail Blazers on Oct. 22.
