LeBron James, Teyana Taylor Joke About Deion Sanders Ranking Children in New Video
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is entering his second year teaming up with his son, Bronny, and he had a revelation about the throes of parenthood.
While interviewing actress, director and music star Teyana Taylor on Uninterrupted's The Main Thing (5:00 mark), James joked about what it's like to raise multiple children, which brought up Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders' infamous "Kids Power Rankings."
"You know, everybody says you love your kids the same. We all know that's a little bit of a lie," James said with a laugh.
"I seen something where Deion Sanders was like, 'You gotta start ranking your kids when it's time to make the wheel,'" Taylor responded. "I was like, 'Oh s--t!'"
While James and Taylor found the notion of power ranking their children to be hilarious, Sanders has routinely adjusted where his five kids stand with him.
In his most recent power rankings in August, Sanders declared Deion Jr., also known as Bucky, to be No. 1. Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders came in at No. 2 following his impressive preseason debut. Sanders' daughters, Deiondra and Shelomi, came in at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively, while former Colorado safety Shilo rounded out the list at No. 5.
James is hoping to help Bronny bloom into a productive NBA player in his sophomore campaign. His younger son, Bryce, is also embarking on his freshman year on the Arizona men's basketball team. His 10-year-old daughter, Zhuri, is an avid volleyball player.
It will be interesting to see if the 40-year-old follows Sanders' lead in ranking his children as they continue their respective athletic pursuits.
