Cavs Reveal LeBron James-Era Uniforms in New Photos for 2025-26 NBA Season
The Cleveland Cavaliers are dialing back the clock to the mid-2000s during the 2025-26 campaign.
Cleveland announced Wednesday it will feature a retro Nike NBA Classic Edition jersey this season that is "a nod to the deep navy blue, wine and gold uniform worn from 2003 to 2010" that it wore early in LeBron James' career.
It will join the team's Icon (Wine), Association (White), Statement (Black) and City Edition uniforms as the Cavaliers' five jersey choices for 2025-26.
Cleveland will use a Classic Edition court during home games with these uniforms, which will feature the "Cleveland Cavaliers" logo with a wine basketball and sword at halfcourt. The Classic Edition court will have similar design elements to the team's court in the mid-2000s when it wore these uniforms as alternates.
The Cavaliers will first wear these uniforms on Nov. 5 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Here is a look at the full slate of games in which they will be featured:
- Nov. 5 vs. Philadelphia 76ers
- Nov. 8 vs. Chicago Bulls
- Nov. 19 vs. Houston Rockets
- Nov. 24 at Toronto Raptors
- Nov. 30 vs. Boston Celtics
- Dec. 6 vs. Golden State Warriors
- Dec. 25 at New York Knicks
- Jan. 2 vs. Denver Nuggets
- Jan. 28 vs. Los Angeles Lakers
- March 8 vs. Boston Celtics
- March 11 at Orlando Magic
- March 27 vs. Miami Heat
Some of the team's biggest games of the season are on that list, including a home contest against James' Los Angeles Lakers and a Christmas Day game against the New York Knicks.
Cleveland and New York are arguably the top two teams in the Eastern Conference heading into the 2025-26 campaign, so any head-to-head matchup is going to feature plenty of stakes regardless of the uniform choice.
The Cavaliers' announcement also revealed their plans to honor the 2006-07 season during the upcoming schedule. That was the first team in franchise history to advance to the NBA Finals, and it did so while wearing these uniforms as alternates.
It was James' fourth season in the league, and he carried a roster where Larry Hughes was the second-leading scorer through the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Eastern Conference Finals against the Detroit Pistons was particularly memorable and served as an early indication of just how legendary the King's career would become.
Unfortunately for Cleveland, it fell short against the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals.
However, it eventually captured its first championship ring in franchise history during James' second stint with the team in 2016.
