
Mariners' 15-Inning Win vs. Tigers Was Most-Watched Division Series Game Since 2011
The Seattle Mariners' thrilling 3-2 win over the Detroit Tigers in 15 innings during Game 5 of the ALDS drew a large audience.
The game averaged 8.59 million viewers and became the most-watched Division Series contest since 2011, according to Nielsen (h/t Yahoo Sports).

The Mariners ultimately secured the win with Jorge Polanco's RBI single in the bottom of the 15th inning in front of a raucous crowd at T-Mobile Park.
With the victory, Seattle punched its ticket to the ALCS for the first time since 2001.
The game started off as a pitching duel, as the Mariners only held a 1-0 edge through the first five innings. The Tigers eventually jumped in front with a two-run home run by Kerry Carpenter in the top of the sixth.
Seattle went on to tie the game with an RBI single from Leo Rivas in the bottom of the seventh before extra innings were needed to determine a winner.
Detroit wasn't able to emerge victorious despite a stellar performance from ace Tarik Skubal, who allowed just one run in six innings of work while racking up 13 strikeouts without giving up a walk.
George Kirby also stepped up for the Mariners to open the contest, compiling six strikeouts in five innings. He allowed just one earned run.
Seattle is now nearing its first World Series appearance in franchise history, owning a 2-0 series lead over the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS.
