Brian Windhorst Says Victor Wembanyama Approaching 7'7", Rookie Height Was a 'Lie'
Victor Wembanyama appears to just keep on growing, and he might have already been taller than we initially thought.
"He was listed at 7'3" as a rookie but that was a lie," ESPN's Brian Windhorst told Boban Marjanović on Monday's NBA Today. "He was not 7'3." I believe he was actually about 7'5." He's now listed at 7'5." Boban, I think he might be approaching 7'7" unofficially."
"On the paper, I'm taller," Marjanović responded, noting he was looking up at Wemby. "I saw 7'3", I'm 7'4." But I was looking at him and I was like, 'No way I'm taller than him.'"

Embiid Calls Out Bridges 👀

Knicks Fans Trample JR Smith 😳
Wembanyama remains one of the sport's true unicorns. His shot-blocking ability (a whopping 3.7 BPG per game during his NBA career) is no surprise given his height and wingspan, but there aren't many players his size who can put it on the floor and drive the hoop or shoot from the perimeter like he does.
In two seasons, Wemby is averaging 22.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 3.7 blocks and 1.2 steals per game, shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 33.9 percent from three. He's like some wild skill-set amalgamation of Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Rudy Gobert, and he continues to grow in statute.
Apparently, he's continuing to grow physically as well.
