Mavericks Throwback Uniforms Reveal Date Teased with Epic Vintage Video
The Dallas Mavericks are set to turn back the clock with a new addition to their uniform lineup for the 2025-26 season.
On Monday, the Mavs posted a teaser video on social media announcing that their throwback uniforms will be unveiled on Thursday:
The video appeared to tease Dallas' original white and royal blue uniform combination with green trimmings, reminiscent of the franchise's debut season in the NBA in 1980-81.
The Mavs are coming off a rollercoaster 2024-25 season that saw them trade star guard Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers and miss the playoffs after losing to the Memphis Grizzlies in the play-in tournament. Despite having a less than two percent chance, Dallas won the draft lottery and selected former Duke star Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 pick.
Flagg will be joining a veteran-laden group that is led by star big man Anthony Davis, who was acquired as part of the Doncic trade. Star point guard Kyrie Irving will miss the start of the season while continuing his recovery from a torn ACL, but he's expected to return at some point this year.
The Mavs will be just two years removed from Doncic leading them to an appearance in the NBA Finals, so this year's squad is carrying championship aspirations into the season. Dallas head coach Jason Kidd was a part of the franchise's only title win in 2011, so he will certainly be looking to mold the team into one of the top contenders in the competitive Western Conference.
The addition of the throwback uniforms will only add more excitement for Mavs fans as the team enters a new era with Davis, Irving and Flagg leading the way.
