Stephen Curry, Warriors Fan Troll Gary Payton II With Fake Autograph Request on Video

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry schemed with a fan to pull off a hilarious prank against teammate Gary Payton II this week.

During a Warriors open practice, Curry went into the crowd and made a plan with the fan. When the fan called Payton over to sign an autograph, the fan stood up and flipped Payton off:

Curry was clearly tickled by the situation, as he jumped and laughed his way down the court.

As a thank you for tricking Payton, Curry gifted the fan with an autographed jersey and shoe.

Curry and Payton are set to enter their sixth seasons as teammates. Payton first signed with the Warriors in 2021, and although he left temporarily after signing a deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, Golden State re-acquired him in a trade that season.

Deservedly, Curry has received a ton of credit for the Warriors' success over the years.

With 11 All-Star selections, two NBA MVP Awards, two scoring titles, four NBA championships and one NBA Finals MVP Award to his credit, Curry is a surefire, first-ballot Hall of Famer.

However, many role players have been significant parts of the Warriors' title teams as well, and Payton is among them.

When the Dubs won their most recent title in 2022, Payton averaged a career-high 7.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game, while playing strong defense off the bench.

Because of that, Payton is beloved in the Bay Area and likely receives tons of legitimate autograph requests, but Curry and the fan may have humbled him a bit this week.
