How Kyle Schwarber Made History With Massive 455-Foot HR in Phillies' Win vs. Dodgers
Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber accomplished an exceedingly rare feat Wednesday at Dodger Stadium during the Phillies' 8-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3 of the National League Division Series.
Schwarber hit a pair of home runs to help the Phils cut the 2-0 series deficit to 2-1, and the first one was particularly notable due to where it landed.
According to the Associated Press (h/t ESPN), Schwarber's fourth-inning home run off Yoshinobu Yamamoto traveled 455 feet, and he became only the second player to ever hit a homer over the pavilion in right field.

The other was Hall of Famer and Pittsburgh Pirates legend Willie Stargell, who did so in 1969 and 1973.
Schwarber noted that he didn't watch the ball long enough to see where it ended up, saying, "I didn't even see where it landed. I was looking in the dugout, trying to get the guys going."
That home run was the momentum shifter the Phillies needed, as it tied the game 1-1 and spurred an offensive outburst.
Philadelphia scored two more runs in the fourth inning to take a 3-1 lead, and then scored another five off future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw in the eighth to put the game away.
With his second home run of the game in the eighth inning, Schwarber now has 23 career postseason homers, which is third on the all-time list behind only Manny Ramírez and Jose Altuve.
Schwarber, 32, won a World Series with the Chicago Cubs in 2016, and while he has enjoyed a great deal of playoff success in Philly, he is still trying to win his first championship with his current team as well.
He helped extend the Phillies' season for at least one more game with his performance in Game 3, but it will be for naught if the Phillies can't win Game 4 on Thursday and send the series back to Philadelphia for a decisive Game 5.
