Lakers Ticket Prices Surge as LeBron Teases 2nd Decision in Viral Video amid Rumors

Adam WellsOct 7, 2025

In the wake of LeBron James teasing another decision that will be revealed on Tuesday, Los Angeles Lakers ticket prices have surged.

Per ESPN's Kalan Hooks, the cost on Vivid Seats for the Lakers' final regular-season home game of the 2025-26 season against the Utah Jazz went from a low of $82 for a single ticket to $580.

The cheapest get-in price for two tickets to the game on April 12 is $760.

This price surge comes after James posted a tease on X with the hashtag "The Second Decision" that will be revealed on Tuesday at 12 p.m. ET.

This has led to speculation that James is going to lay out his retirement plans and the 2025-26 season will be his last in the NBA. But alas, the decision was not about his basketball future:

During the Lakers' media day at the start of training camp on Sept. 29, James didn't offer any insight when asked if he was thinking about retiring anytime soon other than it would be a "decision" between him and his family.

"It'll be a decision between me and my wife and my daughter," said James. "It won't be a meeting with my teammates."

The only hint James did give was in response to a question about whether he might look to stick around long enough to play with his youngest son, Bryce, who is eligible for the 2026 NBA draft.

"I'm not waiting on Bryce," James told reporters. "... He has his own timeline, I got my timeline, and I don't know if they quite match up."

There are other potential indicators that suggest James is at least thinking hard about retirement. He is entering the final season of his current contract with the Lakers after opting in to his $52.6 million salary for 2025-26.

James has not played on an expiring contract at any point during his tenure with the Lakers dating back to the 2018-19 season.

The upcoming season will be James' 23rd in the NBA. He is the oldest active player in the league and will turn 41 on Dec. 30.

Despite his age, James continues to be one of the best players in the NBA. He averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds per game in 70 appearances last season to earn his 21st consecutive All-NBA selection.
