Shaedon Sharpe's Blazers Contract Reportedly Expected to Be in $100M Josh Giddey Range

Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe played some of the best basketball of his career down the stretch of the 2024-25 season, which reportedly could put him in line for quite the contract extension.

While the 2022 first-round pick is facing restricted free agency next offseason on his current deal, NBA insider Jake Fischer reported Sunday there is an expectation he could "command" a deal that resembles the four-year, $100 million extension that Josh Giddey agreed to with the Chicago Bulls.

Fischer also reported Portland's initial offer was for approximately four years and $90 million and explained getting a deal done sooner rather than later would make things clearer as the Western Conference team also looks to sign Deni Avdija and Toumani Camara to extensions down the line.

This comes after Sharpe turned in his best individual season as a scorer in 2024-25 while averaging 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists a night behind 45.2 percent shooting from the field and 31.1 percent shooting from deep.

The Trail Blazers will surely want him to improve on that outside shooting as he garners more experience in the league, but he did connect on 36 percent of his three-pointers as a rookie.

The Kentucky product also averaged a head-turning 28.8 points a night in five April games to end last season, which could have been misleading production for a team that was playing out the string or could have been a sign of things to come for a talented player who is turning a corner.

Portland may have to assess where it stands on that debate before agreeing to an extension, but the report it could sign him to a $100 million deal suggests the front office believes in Sharpe's ability to become even more productive in the coming seasons.

Sharpe is a major part of the Trail Blazers' young core and could be a driving force in their playoff aspirations in 2025-26 and beyond, especially if he is signed to a four-year extension.
