Adam WellsOct 2, 2025

Ahead of his much-anticipated rookie season, Dallas Mavericks phenom Cooper Flagg is going to be the face of Topps' basketball cards.

Topps announced on Thursday that Flagg is the cover athlete for the 2025-26 collection of trading cards that will be available starting on Oct. 23.

This season marks the first time that Topps will serve as the official trading card for the NBA since 2009.

In a preview for the upcoming collection posted to its Instagram, Topps showed off a set of autograph cards featuring Flagg and established superstars like LeBron James, Victor Wembanyama and Stephen Curry.

There is also a triple-autograph rookie card featuring Flagg, Dylan Harper and Kon Knueppel.

Flagg cards have already proven to be a hot commodity among collectors. In the midst of the NCAA tournament, The Athletic's Larry Holder noted at the time that 131 different cards featuring the Duke superstar sold for at least $1,000.

The Topps collection includes a 300-card base set, as well as combo cards, autographs and super short print inserts. Specialty cards include rookie autographs with an old-school design from 1980-81, the real one auto, flagship real one relic, all kings and MVP vault.

Even though the release won't happen until Oct. 23, Topps will start taking pre-orders for its NBA collection starting on Friday at 12 p.m. ET.
